Power generation and transport company Alstom has launched its Aerospace Business.

"It's a familiar name, with a new focus," says business manager Craig Askew. "Aircraft manufacturers want suppliers to take on a whole module rather than individual components, and we have that capability."

Alstom's aerospace pedigree has been built over 40 years in industrial gas turbine supply, including two decades in the manufacture of core aero engine components for civil and military applications.

In addition to its hardware capabilities, it is also a growing force in safety-critical software for controlling aero engines.
