ALTA is flying high

AITAL, the Latin American Air Transport Association, has changed its name to Asociacion Latinoamericano de Transporte Aéreo (ALTA). In Spanish, ALTA means high and is intended, according to president Pedro Heilbron, to reflect a renewed sense of mission and the broad and growing membership. Founded in 1980, the Miami-based association now has 29 member airlines from Central and South America and the Caribbean with three more applying to join.
