Boeing subsidiary Alteon Training has formed a joint venture with Moroccan carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM). The new company, CasaAero Training, will operate from the airline's existing simulator centre in Casablanca. The venture will be equipped with RAM's existing CAE-supplied Boeing 737-400/500 full-flight simulator. Alteon is also acquiring a new 737-600/700/800 simulator to be installed in Casablanca. RAM says the link with Alteon will help expand its role as a regional training centre for North Africa. Alteon president Pat Gaines says the venture "ensures RAM can increase its training capability without a huge capital outlay". CasaAero will become part of Alteon's global training network.
