Frank Ryan has been elected to the board of America West Airlines of Phoenix, Arizona. He is a professor of mathematics at Rice University. Robert Nichols is named senior vice-president for customer service. He was formerly senior vice-president for total quality management with Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites. Douglas McKeen becomes vice-president for labour relations. He was most recently managing director of labour relations for ground operations at Northwest Airlines.
