America West Airlines, of Phoenix, Arizona, has elected Richard Goodmanson as its executive vice-president and chief operating officer, reporting to William Franke, chairman, president and chief executive. Before joining the airline, Goodmanson was senior vice-president of operations at Frito-Lay, where he was responsible for manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, logistics and distribution, and oversaw a private trucking fleet.
