An American Eagle ATR 72 with four crew and 22 passengers was severely damaged while landing in windy conditions at San Juan airport, Puerto Rico, on 9 May, injuring 13 people. One wing contacted the ground during the landing and the aircraft careered off the runway. The initial US National Transportation Safety Board notification says the aircraft made a hard landing and then "departed the runway".
