Defence and electronics joint venture AMS arrived at the show with a clutch of announcements.
Its Dundridge College located in Cwmbran, Wales, has signed a contract with MBDA for a joint service electronic warfare (EW) school to provide basic and advanced EW training for all three services of the Malaysian Armed Forces.
It forms part of the offset deal for the MBDA JERNAS Short Range Air Defence (SHORAD) missile system inked in Kuala Lumpur in April. Malaysian instructors will be trained in Dundridge and then return to instruct personnel in the newly built school.
The company has also announced that its Integrated Systems Division (ISD) based near Edinburgh, Scotland has delivered its Functional Analysis System Trainer (FAST) to RAF Kinloss in Scotland. The system is designed to cater for Nimrod and other EW operators from initial through to continuation training.
The company, owned in equal part by Italy's Finmeccanica and the UK's BAe Systems, says it has signed a $15 million contract with the Italian national air traffic services provider ENAV to modernise the air traffic management system at Naples Capodichino airport.
