All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Delta Air Lines are breaking off their three year strategic alliance, paving the way for the Japanese airline to make its much anticipated move into the Star Alliance. In March, ANA forged a link with Star partner Lufthansa, and is now expected to sign up with United Airlines for its US partnership, as the airline prepares to join the growing list of Star allies.
