Austrian investors Bank Austria and SKWB Schoellerbank have acquired the 9% stake in Austrian Airlines previously held by All Nippon Airways (ANA), taking their stakes to ASch160 million ($12.5 million) and ASch74 million, respectively. Following the deal, the pair now have a 21.2% share in the flag carrier, with Austrian privatisation agency ÖIAG controlling 51.9 %, SAirGroup 10 %, Air France 1.5 % and 15.4 % floated on the Vienna exchange. Austrian saw pre-tax profits on ordinary business rise to ASch884 million last year from ASch354 million, with the group result, including Lauda Air and Tyrolean Airways, up to ASch1.28 million from ASch664 million. Passengers carried by the group rose 12.2% to 7.8million.
