China's airlines will operate more than 5,000 aircraft equipped with around one million seats by 2031, according to Flightglobal Insight's Airline Employment & Fleet Forecast 2013 special report.
The bulk of growth in China's fleet and capacity is expected to be in the 121-200 seat category.
Is it also predicted that 37% of the world's commercial fleet will be based in Asia-Pacific by 2031.
In the more mature North American and European markets, overall fleet growth is forecast to be much lower. However, strong growth is predicted for the global widebody fleet, particularly in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
These are some of the findings available in the Airline Employment & Fleet Forecast 2013 special report. Produced by Flightglobal Insight, the report is now available for free download.
