Air New Zealand (ANZ) is replacing the turboprop fleet of its Air Nelson domestic subsidiary in a move that will boost its competitive edge over Origin Pacific, which is also based in Nelson. ANZ has ordered 17 new Bombardier Dash 8s to replace an equal number of Saab 340As, starting next July. The larger Dash 8s will boost Air Nelson's capacity by over 50%.
