Matra will complete integration of the anti-runway version of the Apache stand-off missile on the Panavia Tornado this year. Firing tests of the missile from the aircraft have recently been undertaken at the French flight-test centre at Cazaux. The Apache ha been ordered by the German Air Force to meet its requirement for a stand-off runway-denial weapon. French and German defence ministries are also discussing further developments using the Apache airframe.
