Egypt wants to acquire a laser detector for its McDonnell Douglas AH-64A Apache attack helicopters, for protection against threats such as laser-beam-riding surface-to-air missiles. It is believed to be looking for systems for up to 38 helicopters. The most likely purchase is for the Hughes AVR-2A(V). Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates have similar requirements.
