AIRCRAFT PARTS says that its latest "XL" Series of starter-generators will soon be granted 1,700h time-between-overhauls (TBO) certification, with no brush inspection.
The generators are fitted to several hundred Cessna 208 Caravans in service with FedEx, as well as Learjet 60, Beech 1900 and Saab 340 aircraft. Farmingdale, New York-based APC hopes to increase TBO to 2,000h by 1996.
The company claims to have manufactured and sold over 28,000 generators during its 35-year history.
