UK-based landing gear manufacturer APPH has boosted its service business with the purchase of Houston, Texas-based Hawker parts support company Arnoni Aviation. APPH, which also provides repair and overhaul services, says the acquisition will allow it to exploit synergies on HS125 aircraft and a greater global presence and focus on business aviation.
David Haslam, managing director of BBA group subsidiary APPH, says the companies will now “explore ways to expand and improve our services” together. But the acquisition does not mark a move away from manufacturing and the company is “looking for growth as a first-tier supplier for both military and civil applications”, Haslam says.
The company does not rule out further acquisitions, saying it is “always looking for opportunities to acquire businesses in both the services and original equipment sectors...there are more opportunities in the USA for acquisitions than in other regional sectors”.
Arnoni forecasts 2006 turnover of $13 million and is now known as Arnoni Aviation Services.
