Continental Airlines has promoted three executives to the role of senior vice-president: Rebecca Cox, government affairs; Mark Moran, technical operations and purchasing; and Jennifer Vogel, general counsel and corporate compliance officer. In a surprise move, Air Mauritius has replaced its managing director Vinod Chidambaram with Meghanathan Pillay, the managing director of Mauritius Telecom, in what is described by one analyst as a politically motivated appointment. Chidambaram had been instrumental in the recent restructuring of the management team at Air Mauritius. Klaus Fischer, who worked for new DBA owner Hans-Rudolf Wohrl in the 1990s at German regional NFD, has joined DBA as commercial director from major European travel insurance firm Europäischen Reiseversicherung. The Universal Air Travel Plan board has voted for Ralph Kaiser, vice-president and general counsel UATP, to replace current president and chairman of the board Richard Crum. Crum is leaving UATP to become president of Lufthansa AirPlus International, one of UATP's leading travel members.
