India's Jet Airways has appointed Austrian Airlines veteran Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, where he was vice-president long term planning and alliances, as its chief executive. He replaces Steve Forte who resigned in November.

Online travel service Opodo has brought in Carl Michel as its director of product strategy. He spent six years at British Airways in the late 1990s, and joins Opodo from UK telecoms specialists Energis, which he headed in German.

Air Mauritius is close to completing its new management structure by filling four of its five chief executive posts. Sushil Duth Baguant and Indradev Buton have been promoted from internal roles to the business support and marketing positions respectively; former Air Botswana chief executive Cornwell Muleya has taken the finance post; while Pierre Darpoux, former vice-president EADS sales/support Honeywell, heads up operations.

Former Bombardier president Robert Brown has been appointed vice-chair of Air Canada's Board and will replace the retiring John Fraser as chairman in mid-May. Brown joined the Canadian aerospace firm in 1987 after a career in government and left Bombardier in late 2002.
