Eight months after SN Brussels and Virgin Express came under the common ownership of SN Airholding, the group has turned to Virgin Express head Neil Burrows to take the merger of the two carriers forward.

Burrows effectively takes over from Rob Kuijpers, who resigned suddenly in September, while SN Brussels head Peter Davies resigned shortly afterwards. To end the leadership hiatus SN Airholding agreed to appoint Burrows for a year to develop a new strategic plan for the carriers. Burrows, 61, who was considering retirement, says that each side will review the situation after a year to see if he will stay longer.
