AquaAirlines has become the first Italian operator of single-engined commercial seaplanes to clinch a European air operator's certificate. The award paves the way for the Milan-based airline to begin services in the next two months with its Cessna 208 Caravan. The service will initially connect the Italian islands of Eolian, Sicily, Ischia and Ponza with the airports on the mainland. AquaAviation plans to extend the service to other regions with additional Caravans and de Havilland Twin Otters.
