An Ariane 44P model will be launched from Kourou in French Guiana on flight V94 on 25 February. It will carry the Intelsat 801 communications satellite into geostationary orbit. This follows the successful launch of the V93 on 30 January, carrying the DASA-built Argentine communications satellite, the Nahuel 1 and the GE 1 communications satellite built by Lockheed Martin. The next launches are the V95/Thaicom 3 and BSat 1A in March; the Pamamsat 6, flying the V96 in April; the May launch of the V97, carrying the Inmarsat 3F4 and Insat 2D; and the Intelsat 802 aboard V98 in June.
