Arianespace's order book has increased to 42 satellites to be launched, worth $3.26 billion, with the formal signing of the contract to launch Egypt's Nilesat 102.
Armand Carlier, the chairman and CEO of Matra Marconi Space, the manufacturer of the satellite, and Jean-Marie Luton, the CEO of Arianespace, were to sign the contract today.
The spacecraft will be launched either on an Ariane 4 or 5 from Kourou, French Guiana in mid-2000. Nilesat 101 was launched by Arianespace last April. It is the fourth order in two years made by MMS with Arianespace.
