The Airborne Systems Integration unit of California Microwave has won a $12 million contract to install advanced surveillance equipment in two RC-7B Airborne Reconnaissance Low Multi-function (ARL-M) aircraft operated by the US Army. Three RC-7Bs, modified de Havilland DHC-7 turboprops, are being used to patrol the Korean demilitarised zone. ARL sensors include a moving-target- indicator synthetic-aperture radar, forward-looking infra-red, an infra-red line scanner, and a daylight camera.
