AgustaWestland delivered the first of 11 A109 light utility helicopters to the Malaysian army at LIMA.
DRB-Hicom subsidiary DefTech has been appointed maintenance provider for the new fleet, which will be serviced initially at a two-hangar facility at Kuala Lumpur’s Subang airport acquired from Dnest. DefTech plans to build a larger facility at a 24 hectare site in Bertam to maintain the A109 and other AgustaWestland models and, potentially, to assemble helicopters.
