ASCO Industries of Belgium has acquired EBCO Aerospace of Canada and renamed the company ASCO Aerospace Canada. Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Bombardier and Avcorp are among ASCO Aerospace Canada's major customers.
ASCO specialises in production of flap tracks for Airbus and Boeing aircraft. EBCO was established in 1987 with the support of the Canadian government and has since been involved in various aerospace programmes. The takeover of the Canadian company follows the acquisition in January 2003 by ASCO of a majority share in the German Präzisions Technik Gedern company.
Asco Aerospace Canada specialises in long-bed, five-axis machining for aluminium, steel and titanium parts and forcomplex high-strength steel flap hinges.
The acquisition is part of ASCO's strategy to invest in new capabilities, including design, to better position ASCO with customers in the North American market.
