Avionic Specialities (ASI) has announced that its Integrated Multi-Functional Probe (IMFP) will be incorporated on board the Joint Strike Fighter.

The IMFP is based on the ASI Angle of Attack probe that is fitted to the majority of the world's combat aircraft and will become the heart of a new Integrated Air Data System.

Airspeed

Providing the angle of attack by sensing the direction of the local airflow, it has added measuring ports for impact and static-like pressures on the rotating sensor tube.

These pressures can be used to calculate pitot static, airspeed and altitude in accuracies bettering the air data requirements of the Reduced Vertical Separation Minima standard. ASI is exhibiting in Hall 2, stand B10.
