AERO INTERNATIONAL (Regional) says that its Asian ATR training centre, a joint venture with Thai Airways International, will be operational by November. The centre will be located in Thai's simulator base in Bangkok (Flight International, 20-26 December1995).

The centre will be equipped with a Thomson Training & Simulation (TTS) Level D full-flight simulator representing all versions of the ATR 42/72 regional turboprop. The device, one of three ordered by ATR in 1994, will include a TTS Space visual system with 180¡-wide panoramic display.

A debriefing station will also be installed. This will enable video taped simulator sessions, to be replayed in a synthetic cockpit. The device will be integrated with crew-resource-management training developed by ATR. The centre will also have a TTS-developed computer-based pilot- and maintenance-training system.
