Trainers Alberta Aerospace has landed its first order for the Phoenix FanJet turbofan trainer aircraft. An Asian airline, reported to be Korean Airlines, has ordered 15 aircraft. The value of the contract for the two-seat Sigma version of the single-engine trainer is about C$45 million ($30 million) with most of the production being done by Moravan Aeroplanes in the Czech Republic. First deliveries are expected in 2003. Alberta Aerospace is changing its name to Phoenix FanJet.
