The Hong Kong-based regional commercial satellite operator AsiaSat reported its figures for 2011. The firm’s revenue for 2011 rose to HK$ 1.72 billion, respresenting an 18% increase on 2010. It also reported a 26% increase in operating profit to HK$1.05 million for 2011 compared to the previous year. The company noted that its SpeedCast two-way broadband service subsidiary was doing significantly well while its overall satellite utilisation rate was 82% for 2011 up from 73% in 2010.
