The NASA contract with Lockheed Martin for the launch of the cancelled Clark earth observation satellite on an Athena 1 has been transferred to a new NASA payload - the Vegetation Canopy Lidar. The Athena 1 launch, scheduled for August next year, will be the first from the Alaska Aerospace Development's new commercial spaceport situated on Kodiak Island, Alaska.
