ATR has signed a five-year contract with India's Bangalore-based low-cost airline Air Deccan.

Worth $90 million, the complete MRO service agreement sees ATR supplying spare parts and maintenance for Air Deccan's new fleet of 30 ATR 72-500 aircraft.

ATR will set up a series of service centres throughout India, conduct complete on site spares inventories and perform immediate repairs when necessary. Capt GR Gopinath, managing director Air Deccan, is keen to stress the usefulness of the MRO service: "We have enjoyed an excellent partnership with ATR for the last two years and this contract is broadening our co-operation."
