Canberra-based Aerospace Technical Services has been named preferred bidder on a A$7.5 million ($5.5 million) contract to design and install crash-data recorders (CDRs) in the Australian army's helicopters. A total of 128 aircraft will be modified. Each system has a cockpit-voice recorder, flight-data recorder and crash-position indicator.
