Australian carrier Strategic Airlines, which bought OzJet in June, has applied to have OzJet's international traffic rights transferred to it.

Australia's International Air Services Commission says Strategic Airlines has applied for OzJet's rights and wants to start a weekly Brisbane-Denpasar Bali service on 6 December using its Airbus A330.

The airline plans to increase it to twice-weekly from 30 June, it adds.

Strategic Airlines and OzJet are primarily charter carriers but the two have some scheduled services. OzJet was operating Boeing 737-200s so Strategic Airlines is effectively asking the commission for an increase in capacity because the A330 is a bigger aircraft.
