The Austrian Airlines group returned to profit in 1995, although losses continued from the core airline operation. The pre-tax profit for the group was ASch65 million ($6 million), turning around a loss of ASch192 million in 1994. The airline made losses of nearly ASch121 million, however, before income from subsidiaries, financial holdings and asset sales. The group warns that cost cutting must continue to offset falling yields.
