Austrian Airlines has appointed Lufthansa Technik Philippines executive Bernd Meyer as managing director of its turboprop maintenance subsidiary in Innsbruck.
The Vienna-based Lufthansa Group carrier is reorganising Tyrolean Technik as wholly owned standalone entity, with the changes to take effect on 1 March 2015.
On the same day, Meyer is to assume his new position, Austrian says. The qualified engineer has been working with Lufthansa Technik for two decades, and most recently served as vice-president aircraft overhaul for the group's facility in Manila.
Tyrolean Technik specialises in Bombardier Q400 maintenance. But Meyer wants to develop the capabilities further and grow the business based on his international experience, he says.
