The European Commission (EC) has warned Austrian Airlines that its co-operation agreement with Star Alliance partner Lufthansa on several routes between Austria and Germany threatens competition. It says it will not approve the partnership unless the airlines address its objections. The carriers and the EChave looked at the possible market entry of other carriers on the routes but have found no satisfactory solution so far.
