The chairman of the Shanghai Airport Authority, Wu Jianrong, is being investigated by Chinese authorities.
"According to the Shanghai Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, Wu Jianrong, chairman of the Shanghai Airport (Group), and deputy secretary of the party committee, is suspected of serious violations of the law, and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection," says China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).
The Shanghai Airport Authority operates Shanghai’s Pudong and Hongqiao airports.
The CCDI is primarily tasked with investigating allegations of graft.
Wu served in Shanghai’s municipal government before attaining his current post in 2017.
The airport authority did not reply to FlightGlobal’s request to comment on the matter.
