ING Robotic Aviation is celebrating a new sale of its Responder UAV, with the Canadian company having been contracted to supply two of the rotary-wing systems.
The deal, which was announced on Monday, with Keymerging Technologies will provide equipment for use in aerial surveillance activities in east Africa, the contractor says.
Its vertical take-off and landing aircraft will be supplied with high-definition electro-optical and infrared cameras, and provide "a wide range of imagery and monitoring support," it adds.
A two-week training course will be provided for the customer from late August, when the UAVs, a ground control station and ancillary equipment will also be delivered.
"Responder will be used as a flexible surveillance tool," says ING Robotic Aviation chief executive Ian Glenn. The UAV has a maximum payload capacity of 5kg (11lb), and a flight endurance of around 20min.
