Raytheon (booth 859) has completed the first end-to-end test of its 13.5lbs Pyros small tactical munition (STM).
Raytheon hopes its new weapon will eventually be integrated on the US Marine Corps AAI RQ-7 Shadow fleet after the service runs a new competition. But there could be follow-on orders from the US Army, which operates the Shadow but has not decided if it will arm its fleet.
The Pyros, which until now was referred to as STM, is a gravity-dropped weapon guided by global positioning system/inertial navigation system (GPS/INS) and a semi-active laser. Two of the weapons can fit into a common launch tube.
Raytheon will not say how much the weapon costs.
