Israel-based Tadiran Spectralink early next year will demonstrate a digital version of its analogue tactical video and data link (TVDL) system in the US.

The AN/ACQ-9 is being used widely in Israel, and as of several months ago, by certain attack helicopters in the US military fleet. By going digital, which involves the addition of one computer card, software and a selector knob on the control panel, operators will be able to encrypt data while boosting performance, says Tadiran.
