Zimbabwe-based AV Cargo Airlines has contracted SR Technics as engine maintenance provider.
The carrier has signed an exclusive five-year agreement with the Swiss MRO provider, covering maintenance up to overhaul plus engine monitoring services for its Pratt & Whitney PW4000 powerplants.
AV Cargo is operating two Boeing MD-11 freighters, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows.
Engine-condition and performance data will be transmitted to SR Technics’ engineering team in Zurich to ensure efficient and reliable operation with optimised costs, the MRO provider says.
AV Cargo selected SR Technics for the support of its PW4000 engines because the MRO provider, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Aerospace group, has a “proven track record” in maintaining and managing the legacy powerplant.
SR Technics’ original parent, defunct Swissair, operated MD-11s for its long-haul network.
