UK charter start-up AV8air will launch services from Manchester, UK this week following delivery of its first aircraft, an ex-Air 2000 Boeing 757-200 leased from Ansett Worldwide. The airline, owned by travel company Club Travel 2000 Group, will operate the 233-seater on services to the Canaries and mainland Spain on behalf of sister company CT2. A 278-seat Boeing 767-300ER is being added to operate long-haul flights on behalf of CT2 to Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth in South Africa. In the longer term, the airline plans to add Asian services, as well as flights from Newcastle, UK.
