The Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned air vehicle makes its flying air show debut at the Australian International Airshow in Avalon, near Melbourne, in March. The demonstrations will use the first prototype Global Hawk aircraft, owned by Northrop Grumman and last year refurbished to support ongoing RQ-4 development and trial activities. The UAV will use the same flightpath across the Pacific used by the US Air Force to deploy operational RQ-4 UAVs from the USA to the Middle East. That flight stages via the Royal Australian Air Force base at Edinburgh, South Australia.

Flight International and AUVSI are co-hosting Unmanned Systems Asia-Pacific in Melbourne on 9-11 March. www.unmannedsystems.info
