Avcraft has secured financing from Maple Commercial Finance Group to restart production of the Fairchild Dornier 328JET. Avcraft, which formally acquired the 328JET programme, as well as rights to the proposed stretched 44-seat 428JET, in September, hopes to restart production by year-end, once the backlog of white tail aircraft is delivered.

It is negotiating the transfer of wing production from US-based M7 Aerospace back to the former Fairchild Dornier final assembly lines at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany (Flight International, 14-20 October). Maple says its collaboration with Avcraft could extend to 328JET parts vendors and prospective buyers.
