VENEZUELAN CARRIER Avensa has ordered a newly certificated Boeing 737-100/200 Stage 3 hushkit developed by Florida-based AvAero which allows it to operate to much higher maximum gross take-off weights (MGTOW) without turbine nozzle modifications.
AvAero has received a US Federal Aviation Administration supplemental type certificate allowing users of its 737 Stage 3 hushkit to increase MGTOW to 56,520kg with Pratt & Whitney JT8D-15s. Operators with JT8D-9s will be able to operate at MGTOWs of 55,160kg and those with -7s at almost 52,000kg.
