Star Alliance carriers Avianca and Turkish Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement.
Under the deal, Turkish Airlines passengers will gain access to Avianca’s flights to Bogota from Madrid and Barcelona, and to Cali and Medellin from Madrid.
In return, Avianca will place its code on Turkish Airlines’ flights to Istanbul from Madrid and Barcelona, says Avianca.
“Through the codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines we can offer more and improved flight options to our own passengers traveling towards Turkey,” says Fabio Villegas, Avianca CEO.
Turkish Airlines president and CEO Temel Kotil says: “With this codeshare agreement passengers will be able to travel to many destinations both in Turkey and Colombia, enabling them to access a global network provided by both airlines.”
