Russian low-cost carrier Avianova has taken delivery of a sixth leased Airbus A320 at its base airport Moscow Sheremetyevo.
The aircraft has undergone modification in Shannon to accommodate 170 passengers in a single-class cabin layout to meet Russian regulations for duty-free import.
Avianova has not disclosed from where the aircraft is leased.
Avianova director general Vladimir Gorbunov says the carrier is continuing to negotiate leases on additional similarly-configured A320s.
He expects the additional A320s to be delivered this year.
Avianova has added 10 seats on three of its five previously-leased A320s to increase their capacity to 170 seats.
The remaining two aircraft are slated for the same modification in mid-May, says Gorbunov.
