Avica claims to be the only UK company working on Ariane 5, Arianespace' latest satellite-launcher. The company is supplying high-strength nickel-alloy flexible ducts and metallic hoses for the liquid-hydrogen and liquid-oxygen duct systems on the vehicle's first-stage Vulcain engine. Avica is also supplying the oxygen and hydrogen fuel lines for the McDonnell Douglas DC-X, and titanium flexible hoses to Lockheed Martin for the hydrazene-powered attitude control system on NASA's Saturn spacecraft Cassini.
