Avincis, the parent company of UK helicopter operator Bond Aviation Services and Spain's Inaer, has reported group turnover of €168 million for the quarter ended 30 September, broadly flat compared with the same period a year earlier.
Group EBITDA rose 5% year-on-year to €51.9 million from €49.4 million in 2012, representing a return on sales of around 31%.
The company, which is presently the centre of talks with services provider Babcock over the creation of a joint venture, operates in three segments - Life & Rescue, Energy Support and Safety & Environment. Turnover rose in the first two divisions, but declined in the latter, says Avincis.
Overall order intake rose by 130% to €990 million, from €431 million a year earlier and its backlog increased by 65% to €2.14 billion.
It says it has been awarded 14 new contracts so far this year, which will deliver additional annual revenues of €96.4m. Contract renewals account for a further€110.8m.
Avincis chief executive James Drummond says: “The services we provide are vital to the communities we serve, and our sustained focus on improving our capability has established high standards and operational excellence.
"These encouraging results show our strategy is working as we continue to secure the order intake that will drive future growth in sales, earnings and cash.”
