Russia's largest avionics and electronic equipment supplier, Kontsern Avionika (Avionics Concern), says it intends to become the lead firm in developing avionics sets for the MS-21 narrowbody. The firm was formed this month by the merger of Technocomplex and Ramenskoye.
General director of Ramenskoye and president of Technocomplex Givi Dzhanjgava, who is heading Avionika, says his enterprise has bid in the newly opened tender for MS-21 avionics and, whatever the result of the tender, Avionika will participate in the MS-21 project.
"We have a joint bid with NII AS, the state-run Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Systems. We filed a comprehensive offer that covers a step-by-step programme calling for unification of military and civilian avionics technologies."
