Brazilian carrier Azul has forged a contract with Embraer to expand its E-195 fleet through an order for 11 aircraft.
The latest transaction increases Azul's total orders for the E-Jet family to 52.
Azul currently operates 23 E-195s and 10 E-190s.
With the latest order, Azul becomes the largest E-Jet operator in South America, said Embraer.
"This order underlines our belief that the E-190 and E-195 are the right aircraft for Azul's growing network within Brazil. This additional capacity will support profitable growth, as well as our core mission of providing safe, comfortable and affordable air transportation in the country," said Azul CEO David Neeleman. "
